Floridians should not foot the bill for large insurance companies and corporate landlords.

Insurance premiums in Florida are four times the national average and rent prices are soaring. Instead of giving a $3 billion bailout to large insurance companies, we need to expand competition, provide homeowners and renters with relief, and let local residents make their own housing decisions. Floridians should not foot the bill for large insurance companies and corporate landlords.

Nate will fight for homeowners rights to hold large insurance companies accountable and advocate for renters against corporate landlords. Florida also has one of the highest levels of income inequality in the country, the path forward is to strengthen unions and advocate for robust anti-trust legislation that helps workers and small business owners.

Florida is the 4th most expensive state for healthcare and 52% of us don't go the doctor because prices are too high. Now, a 6-week abortion ban is contributing to a physician shortage. Floridians don't want to ban safe abortion access, we want to lower healthcare costs and expand access for everyone.

Nate is going to Tallahassee to lower healthcare costs because he knows it's a right for everyone. He also trusts women to make decisions about their health, knowing that there is no room for the state legislature in a doctors office when that choice is being made.

Nate is also committed to ensuring that our healthcare system is sustainable.

EDUCATION & ACADEMIC FREEDOM

So why did Tallahassee divert $4 billion in taxpayer funds away from public education to pay private schools that aren't held to the same standard?

Florida ranks 48th in the nation in teacher pay, leading to one of the largest teacher shortages. Additionally, Florida experiences the largest drop in learning between fourth and eighth grades. Moreover, Florida is on track to banning the most books in the nation. So why did Tallahassee divert $4 billion in taxpayer funds away from public education to pay private schools that aren't held to the same standard?

Nate knows students should have a safe learning environment that challenges them to think critically and learn new perspectives. He is the son of a public school teacher, a former substitute teacher, and a graduate student himself, which is why he believes everyone has a right to affordable, high-quality public education - from pre-k to post-secondary education.

Nate is running to restore our public school funding, increase teacher pay, and strengthen our education unions.

Orlando is the least walkable city in the country and residents continue to foot the bill for urban sprawl.

Only 4% of energy produced in the Sunshine State is renewable energy, lagging far behind the national average of roughly 20%. Additionally, Orlando has the 5th average highest commute time out of any metro area according to recent data. Orlando is the largest tourist destination in the United States, with over 104 million visitors as of November 2022. Out of 35 metro areas analyzed in March 2023, Orlando ranked 33 in walkability. Orlando is the least walkable city in the country and continues to foot the bill for urban sprawl.

Nate is not bought out by big developers and fossil fuel companies. He will hold them accountable. Nate strives to create a Central Florida built on green energy, green spaces, kid-friendly urban planning, and bikeable communities. He will increase appropriation funds for the development of new infrastructure and transit projects that diversify transportation, lower commute times, eliminate traffic congestion, and enhance connectivity.
